The engineer (New profession)
Just think about it for a second.
Description:
The engineer, a character in the game who loves to invent, tackle new challenges and provide robotic assistance.
The 4 attribute types would have to be:
Ingenuity
The creativity that enhances the build time of robotics, skills, and resourcefulness. (The main attribute)
Example of a skill:
Rush time: for every one skill/spell cast the next 2,3,4 spells recharge faster. (Glyph)
Eureka: For every attack skill/spell cast the damager increases %.
Scrap metal: Surround yourself with scrap metal and decrease damage dealt on you by %.
Robotics
This attribute enhances the effectiveness of robots built and increase the damage done by the robots
Example of a skill:
Robotic arm: Build a robotic arm that attaches to you and deals 21 damage. (touch spell)
Ultimate robot: Build a level # robot to assist you.
little spy: Creates one little spy with 55 health as a distraction.
Biology
This attribute provides biological medical assistance to the engineer and others around him. Once this attribute is increased so is the energy increases by 0.5 energy per second.
Example of a skill:
Vial of life: The vial heals you full health while draining your attack speed by 50%.
Mad scientist: Turn one enemy against their allies.
Replenishment: halts you from an action for 5 seconds to fully replenish your health and energy
Crossbow Mastery
No inherent Effect. As this attribute increases, the crossbows attack increases.
Example of a skill:
Explosive Arrow: For # seconds your arrows are explosive causing foes adajacent to you to take damage.
To the Sky: Shoot # time and you won't miss.
Metallic Arrow: Deals 26 damage.
So now you have seen my idea on the attributes and a glimph of the weapon. I will describe even further.
Weapons: I know it seems a little redundant with the ranger, but crossbows would be a great idea as their weapons. I think their should be one handed and two handed crossbows.
Equipment: Rugid looking almost looking like swat equipment, yet more in the lines of an engineer's suit.
Now all I need is some opinion's on my profession that I have made.

Reason: Too much gun talk, switched it to crossbows.

Like the idea (is a Mechanical Engineer himself), but hate pretty much everything else.
Make it fit the surroundings more and be more relevant on... well, everything.

If Gw2 ever comes out you can be an asura and be a geek in game as you are in real life.

Can i get genuine responses please.
If guns are out of the question than robotic arms could replace it. But I would like rifles and revolvers to be a part of it, because guns are old, but not as old as swords and shields, but they play a big part for engineers. Plus, what makes staffs, swords, and wands differ from guns? I am looking at it as a fantasy point of view, but I do not want to be sidetracked. I realize that GW will not even include this profession. However it would be nice. I am just doing this for me.
To be more relevant around the time GW is in what would engineers in reality at that time look like?

I don't like guns or SWAT armor... or the use of modern works in GW.
I like the time setting GW is in. Sorry =\

That's actually not a bad Idea... There are skills underneath the attributes.

How about Engineers make steam-powered items instead? Sort of like a Ritualist's but instead of dropping it having an effect, you could make it have an effect after a period of time.
Just throwing some stuff in there. (;
